Rebuild a city on the urban rail.

From October 11th to 13th, a think tank meeting, which has always been known as the authority of China urban rail development, will be held in Shenzhen, "China Urban Rail Transit Owners’ Leaders Summit 2021" to help build a smart urban rail and a strong transportation country.

Taking this opportunity, as the organizer of this conference, Shenzhen Metro will also hold a TOD brand launch conference with the theme of "Arriving at Unlimited Possibility" on October 13th, sharing the pioneering experience of how to use the "track+property" model to continuously feed back the construction and operation of rail transit and build a three-dimensional, efficient and intensive urban ecological space.

Behind the TOD model, which has aroused heated discussion in the industry, there are exciting blueprints:

By the end of 2020, 29 cities in China have carried out TOD comprehensive development, with a total land reserve of nearly 50 million ㎡ and an income increase of about 17 billion yuan. According to the international experience, almost all prosperous areas have central cities as their main platforms, and a strong rail transit network is often their important infrastructure. For example, the rail transit and TOD layout extending in all directions in San Francisco Bay Area, new york Bay Area and Tokyo Bay Area are examples.

In contrast, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is still in the initial stage of TOD territory expansion in metropolitan area, but Shenzhen, the core city, has made a breakthrough from it, explaining the story of urban double engine with urban rail construction and TOD development mode.

Race with the Times: China Urban Rail Transit Towards the New Blue Ocean

As the saying goes, "If you want to be rich, build roads first".

The road is clear, and all industries are prosperous. From China’s first urban rail line, Beijing Metro Line 1, on October 1, 1969, the 8,449-kilometer urban rail transit line that has been put into operation in 49 cities now ranks first in the world (including 6,641 kilometers of subway lines); From being a hundred years behind (the world’s first urban rail was the London Metro, which was opened to traffic in 1863) to becoming a new national business card, the China urban rail has completed a leap-forward development at a speed that shocked the world.

This criss-crossing urban rail crossing mountains and seas is a symbol of urban roads in the new era, and it also carries the dreams of hundreds of millions of people in China, and embodies the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation to go far away and reach infinite possibilities.

According to incomplete statistics, in 2020, the domestic urban rail network completed a total of 17.59 billion passenger trips, which is equivalent to carrying the total population of the earth more than twice. In the same year, the proportion of urban rail transit passenger traffic in the total public transport passenger traffic nationwide was 38.7%, up 4.1 percentage points year-on-year; Among them, the passenger traffic of urban rail in six cities, including Beishangguangshen Ningrong, accounts for at least half of the country.

Data source: China Urban Rail Association, calculated from the monthly passenger traffic data of central cities published by official website, Ministry of Communications.

Today, China’s economy continues to develop steadily, but the traffic congestion problem is becoming increasingly serious. Undoubtedly, the construction of urban rail transit has been strongly supported by national policies, and it has moved from a big urban rail country to a strong urban rail country.

During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the development of urban rail transit was included in the plan development outline for the first time at the national level, and it was regarded as a major strategy to stimulate the sustainable development of the national economy, especially the economy of big cities.

In 2019, the country launched a new infrastructure strategy. Among the seven key infrastructure areas, the construction of "urban rail transit" is impressively listed;

In the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Draft Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Long-term Target in 2035 also proposed that the mileage of urban rail transit in China will increase by 3,000 kilometers during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and it is estimated that the cumulative passenger traffic will exceed 100 billion passengers during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and the accumulated investment is expected to reach 1,818.8 billion yuan.

Even if the policy dividend is put aside, urban rail is still a transportation system that competes with the times and has strong endogenous development momentum.

First, from the demand side, even if China is stronger than first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, its urban rail density still lags far behind that of international metropolises.

Under the background of deepening urbanization, the formed urban agglomerations and metropolitan areas will further release the transportation needs such as logistics and people flow, followed by the continuous increase in the number of private cars, with traffic congestion as a typical urban disease. This means that in the foreseeable future, domestic urban rail transit construction still has a large room for growth.

Second, from the supply side, as of the end of 2020, the network planning of 61 cities nationwide has been approved and under construction, with a line length of 6,797.5 kilometers, accounting for 80% of the total line length currently in operation. Take Shenzhen as an example. According to the plan put forward by the Municipal Transportation Work Conference, by 2025, Shenzhen will build "640 kilometers of urban rail+220 kilometers of railway".

On the other hand, there are more than 100 cities in China that are planning rail transit, and more cities that meet the requirements for subway declaration still have no subways, which means that more supply reserve troops are ready to go. Therefore, it can almost be concluded that with the promotion of "urban integration", the national urban rail system will continue to gain development momentum.

Urban rail, which blooms everywhere, is changing the space-time layout of a city by means of point-to-line and line-to-network, and also broadening the road for the city to a better future.

The orderly operation of a modern city depends on public transportation, and urban rail transit is the first choice for public transportation. Further exploration, the aorta of domestic urban rail transit is the subway.

As an important part of the urban public transportation system, if the basic function of making travel more convenient and faster is put aside, the construction and operation of the project will also promote the development of property and commerce along the surrounding areas, and often form a unique "subway economic belt".

After all, travel is not an end, but arrival.

Exploring the "city" in the city: TOD model empowers the diversified and efficient development of the city

"People come to cities to live, and people live in cities to live better." -Aristotle

China’s urban rail construction has entered the fast lane of speeding up. From a subway to rail transit in major cities all over the country, innovation is still going on, and China’s wisdom is creating the future. Then the soul torture is coming. Besides providing increasingly convenient and fast transportation, what kind of surprises will the urban rail bring to people’s lives?

Due to different personal preferences, the answers are bound to be varied. But the TOD project will be one of the popular answers, which represents people’s yearning for a better life in the era of urban rail transit.

What new species is TOD?

In the past, the development of domestic cities was mainly based on spatial expansion, but now the logic has changed to spatial optimization.

Take Shanghai, where the density of domestic urban rail is at the forefront, when the domestic TOD project has not been introduced, because the subway line construction has been spreading in various districts of Shanghai, the real estate is often developed wherever the rail is built, that is, the "subway house" in the usual sense. Although in this mode, Line 1 has driven Xinzhuang, Line 9 has driven Songjiang and Line 11 has driven Jiading … But this simple and rough development mode is obviously not a long-term solution for big cities with increasingly insufficient land space and increasingly congested cities, and new urban planning urgently needs a dose of "TOD medicine".

When it comes to TOD, I believe that the deepest impression of most people is "the subway is covered". In the ordinary urban rail depot, vehicles used to park in the open air. If a large concrete cover is added on it, then this "cover" is equivalent to re-creating a valuable building land. Under the cover, new properties are built on the cover, which is commonly known as "superstructure property (subway roof)". This creative development idea, on the one hand, solves the problems of land shortage and housing difficulties, on the other hand, realizes the property feeding back to the urban rail and ensures the sustainable development of the urban rail property.

Comparison of the effect of "building property"

It should be noted that the "superstructure" only reflects one aspect of the TOD project, not the whole picture. In the early years, the United States took the lead in proposing a new mode of urban development TOD: transit-oriented-development, that is, an urban development mode centered on public transportation hubs, and establishing a central square or city center with a radius of 400-800 meters. It is no exaggeration to say that the standard TOD is a "mini city center". You can stay in it for a long time, but you can always easily communicate with the outside world.

Therefore, the TOD concept project is by no means equivalent to a subway house. It is not a single residential/commercial area built on the urban rail, nor a simple combination of various formats, but a fusion of life scenes: office, business, residence and other public buildings and landscape environments are integrated into one project, and people can enjoy a suitable street network pattern, work and living space.

How is the excellent TOD practiced?

In the Shinjuku subway area of Tokyo, there are 17 rail lines gathering here, with 3.64 million people entering and leaving the gate/day, and there are 178 subway exits, the number of which is staggering. It has long been certified by Guinness World Records as the subway station with the largest number of users in the world.

In order to strengthen the link between the station and the surrounding commercial facilities, the developer upgraded the whole area into a more diversified "international exchange city". For example, in the aspect of transfer planning, the seamless connection of underground station, station business, above-ground station and above-ground business has been achieved; In terms of staying experience, more green nodes such as green terraces are added to "embellish" it.

It is not only the newly planned administrative and commercial center in Tokyo, but also a commercial district where department stores and commercial streets gather, and there are many famous enterprise headquarters, which makes the purchasing power of the huge floating population and the empowerment of the city have been qualitatively improved.

Looking back to China, the TOD project has a longer cycle than ordinary property development projects. According to the 3-4 year cycle, the number of follow-up plans, investment demand and business income of the sector may be fed back during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period. In addition, many late-developing cities, such as Guiyang, Nanchang and Lanzhou, are still in the initial stage of rail transit construction, and the lines have not yet been networked. The primary and secondary linkage of land business and TOD project planning have not yet been carried out due to the scale of rail transit. However, in the long run, with more and more urban rail transit plans approved, the market prospect of TOD project development is very broad.

In recent years, many mainland cities have also taken the lead in emerging a number of high-quality TOD projects.

Shanghai’s largest transportation hub, Dahongqiao, is home to airports, high-speed rail, urban rail and expressway. The Vanke Sky City project, which is entrenched here, draws lessons from the Japanese TOD model. Around Xuying Road Station of Line 17, the core of planning is the concept of 15-minute life circle mentioned in Shanghai 2035.

At the moment when the subway construction is in full swing, the TOD exploration road of Shenzhen Railway Real Estate, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenzhen Railway Group, also has many remarkable points.

Innovating "Track+Property" Mode and Practicing TOD Development Concept

In the eyes of the industry, TOD requires developers’ overall consideration ability and comprehensive coordination ability because it involves many stakeholders and the design scheme is complex. At present, there are few enterprises that have successfully implemented TDO mode in China, and Shenzhen Railway Real Estate, a subsidiary of Shenzhen Railway Group, is one of the few leading explorers.

The essence of the "track+property" development model of Shenzhen Railway Real Estate Co., Ltd. is the synchronous planning, synchronous design and synchronous construction of superstructure (Shenzhen Railway Real Estate Co., Ltd.) and subway line construction (Shenzhen Railway Construction Co., Ltd.), and provides financial support for the sustainable development of urban rail transit through the development of subway superstructure.

Perhaps it is also due to the deep coupling with the parent company Shenzhen Metro Group in business collaboration. Shenzhen Railway Real Estate Co., Ltd., which covers two core businesses of property development and hub, has won the top three of the "Top Ten Comprehensive Strength of Shenzhen Real Estate Development Industry" for five consecutive years, and achieved sales of over 10 billion yuan for six consecutive years. As of September, 2021, Shenzhen Railway Property Co., Ltd. has obtained the comprehensive development right of 16 superstructure projects along the track, with a total development scale of 11.07 million ㎡, of which the built delivery area is about 3.9556 million ㎡, the construction area is about 5.44 million ㎡, and the construction area is about 1.666 million ㎡.

The major TOD projects under Shenzhen Railway Real Estate Co., Ltd. have been completed one after another, which actually reflects the new changes in the development model of TOD in recent years.

First, from "single station independent development" to "district overall planning, station-city integration"

Take the Qianhai International Hub Project of Shenzhen Railway as an example. The planned hub and superstructure projects of this project have a total land area of 20 hectares and a total construction area of about 2.159 million ㎡. Upon completion, it is estimated that the total passenger flow will reach 750,000.

The planning of the project skillfully adopts the design concept of "integration of stations and cities". From the overall planning, Qianhai Hub connects Guangdong and Hong Kong with five lines, and the three-dimensional public transportation is seamlessly connected with the high-end urban complex, so as to build an intensive and three-dimensional 24-hour dynamic community based on Shenzhen Qianhai and radiating the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong, shape the image of an international modern city window, and form the landmark and regional core of Qianhai District.

In terms of traffic design, on the premise of ensuring efficient transfer of internal pedestrian traffic, it is also connected with surrounding buildings or plots through underground, ground and second-floor pedestrian systems to realize fast and convenient pedestrian contact between the project and the surrounding areas.

Finally, the property and hub implement the concept of "integration" in the whole process of the project through integrated design management, planning, construction and operation.

In the future, in such a comprehensive community with mixed functions, the subway is carrying dreams to shuttle day and night. On the one hand, there are endless trains, on the other hand, there are bustling commercial and office areas, and on the other hand, it is a peaceful and quiet livable place.

Second, the transformation from "spatial planning" to "functional planning, spatial planning and integrated design"

The Jin Shang Garden of the subway, jointly presented by two state-owned enterprises, Shenzhen Railway Group and Zhenye Group, is seamlessly connected with Liuyue Station of Metro Line 3, and is a large-scale complex covering residential, apartment, commercial and sports parks.

The project innovatively combines the two values of "subway" and "park", and is adjacent to a large sports park in functional planning, including tennis courts, basketball courts, circular jogging tracks and other facilities; In space planning, brand businesses such as Boxma Xiansheng, China Film International Cinema, Starbucks and Decathlon are gathered to build a metropolis experience.

Third, the transformation from "space design around the site" to "characteristic scene creation" serving people’s life, travel and work needs.

The Shenzhen Railway Reading Mountain Garden Project can be said to have left a rich and colorful stroke for the construction of TOD characteristic scenes of Shenzhen Railway Real Estate. The project is positioned as an ecological zone of universities, a subway metropolis and an elite quality residential area. It is a high-grade elite quality community integrating housing, schools and supporting businesses. Because it is adjacent to well-known universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua and south university of science and technology of china, it has successfully created a characteristic scene of a humanistic university with mountains.

Fourth, change from "development and construction" to "comprehensive operation"

As the first masterpiece of urban high-end residential buildings created by Shenzhen Railway Property, Shenzhen Railway Yifu Project is a 750,000 ㎡ humanistic and ecological complex integrating high-end residential buildings, colorful businesses, sports parks and nine-year education facilities. From the beginning of the design, the project was based on the thinking of comprehensive operation, instead of relying too much on one subway station, it was built on four subway stations: Antuo Mountain, Shenkang, Qiaocheng North and Shenyun. The Antuo Mountain area is connected with Xiangmi Lake and OCT, and it is expected to become a new sample of urban mountain residence.

From "Qianhai International Hub Center" to "Shenzhen Railway House", it is a brand-new exploration and breakthrough again and again for the younger Shenzhen Railway home buyers in the young cities. Relying on the deep accumulation of Shenzhen Railway Group for more than 12 years, Shenzhen Railway Real Estate will continue to deepen the TOD model and build a more anticipated "track+property" map.

Of course, beyond the transformation, we need more persistence. Many TOD classic concepts, such as people-centered, efficient land opening and efficient accessibility, have always run through the long journey of Shenzhen Railway to help residents on the urban rail reach infinite possibilities.

The opening and operation of "Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Map Scheduled Train" has added another new channel for the goods in Chengdu-Chongqing area to go to sea, and the economic circle of the twin cities in Chengdu-Chongqing area has a new connection with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Five departments: Complete the integration, merger and optimization of nature reserves in 2025.

A nature reserve has many signs, which are called scenic spots, tourist areas, geological parks, etc. There are also a large number of urban and township built-up areas in the reserve, and the ecological space and production and living space squeeze each other. The chaos in this nature reserve will be thoroughly rectified.

On March 17th, National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs jointly issued the Plan for the Construction of National Parks and Other Nature Reserves and Major Projects for the Protection of Wild Animals and Plants (2021-2035) (hereinafter referred to as the "Construction Plan"), which determined that by 2025, the integration and optimization of nature reserves will be completed, and the unified registration of natural resources will be carried out. By 2035, the layout of nature reserves will be further optimized, and the total area will be stable at more than 18% of the land area.

"After the institutional reform in 2018, all kinds of nature reserves will be protected and supervised by the forestry and grass departments. Integrate all kinds of nature reserves, and in principle only keep one brand. " On March 18th, National Forestry and Grassland Administration experts told the First Financial Reporter.

The contradiction between protection and utilization of various nature reserves is prominent, which is one of the main problems faced by the construction of national parks and other nature reserves in China for many years.

There are a large number of urban and township built-up areas in the nature reserve, and the problem of mutual extrusion between ecological space and production and living space is prominent. Photography/Zhangke

According to the Construction Plan, due to historical reasons, the conflict between man and land in China’s nature reserves is more prominent. There are a large number of mining rights in nature reserves, and there are contradictions and conflicts between the development of mineral resources and the basic positioning of nature reserves; Water activities such as waterway shipping in nature reserves overlap with the distribution areas of aquatic organisms.

The Construction Plan also points out other outstanding problems in China’s nature reserves: influenced by the original natural resource management system, China’s nature reserves lack a unified and coordinated top-level design, and various departments set them up according to their own functions, resulting in unscientific and unsystematic classification system of nature reserves in China, and unclear and uncoordinated functional positioning. At the same time, the separate demarcation has also caused the spatial overlap among 49.8% nature reserves in China.

At the same time, the "Construction Plan" indicates that nature reserves and endangered species in China are mostly distributed in remote and backward areas, with limited construction investment and obviously insufficient protection and management capabilities; Due to the rapid economic development, rapid population growth and the lack of scientific and reasonable land use policies, China’s natural forest area has decreased, wetlands have shrunk, grasslands have deteriorated, wildlife habitats and wild plants’ original habitats have been seriously disturbed, eroded, fragmented and destroyed, and habitat islanding, fragmentation and functional degradation have become serious problems. The ability to prevent and control epidemic diseases and alien invasive species is insufficient.

Based on these problems, the Construction Plan proposes to properly mediate contradictions and conflicts in national parks, and smoothly and orderly withdraw mining rights, hydropower stations and other projects that do not meet the requirements of national park management and control. On the basis of fully soliciting the opinions of the owners and contractors, the collective land with high protection value in the core protection area will be given priority to standardize the circulation through leasing and replacement, and will be managed by the national park management agency in a unified way. Rational use of natural resources, franchising in general control areas according to law.

Relevant experts who participated in the preparation of the Construction Plan told the First Financial Reporter that promoting the franchise of nature reserves in a reasonable and orderly manner can lay a good foundation for the development of eco-industries such as eco-tourism and forest health care, promote the improvement of infrastructure and investment environment in communities and surrounding areas, and help stimulate domestic demand and expand employment.

Do aquatic dinosaurs exist or not?

  The prehistoric creatures

  Intern reporter Dai Xiaopei

In the evolutionary history of dinosaurs, one of the biggest mysteries is: Are there aquatic dinosaurs? Although we know that ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs and canglong all live in water, according to their position on the evolutionary tree, they are not strictly dinosaurs, but only close relatives of dinosaurs. So why are aquatic dinosaurs so rare?

Spinosaurus is an atypical aquatic dinosaur?

In fact, among the dinosaur fossils found, there are not dinosaurs that did not live in water at all.

In 1912, people discovered a kind of theropod dinosaur in Egypt — — Fossils of Spinosaurus, which lived in the Cretaceous period from about 110 million to 93.5 million years ago.

According to the early data released by scientists, Spinosaurus was 12.6 to 18 meters long and weighed 7 to 20.9 tons. In recent years, more complete specimens support early research, and scientists found that Spinosaurus could grow to a length of 15 to 15.6 meters. However, the latest data estimate that its weight is 6.4 tons to 7.2 tons. Unlike most dinosaurs, Spinosaurus had some unique spines on its back, forming a sail-like structure. According to public information, the spines on the back of Spinosaurus were at least 1.65 meters long. The spine of Spinosaurus is an extension of its vertebrae, which researchers believe can help Spinosaurus regulate its body temperature or show its unique charm.

"After comparing Spinosaurus with crocodiles, people think that Spinosaurus may be aquatic." Xu Xing, a paleontologist at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of China Academy of Sciences, told the Science and Technology Daily reporter that according to the skull shape of Spinosaurus, it was found that the skull of Spinosaurus was long and narrow, similar to that of modern crocodiles. Specifically, the mouth is slender, and the direction and size of teeth help it catch fish and fix its prey in the mouth.

In addition, by analyzing the fossils of individual Spinosaurus, some scientists found that there were fish scale residues in the stomach contents of Spinosaurus. "This shows that Spinosaurus ate creatures in the water, and it can be speculated that Spinosaurus may live on the shore or in the water." Xu Xing said that another evidence that Spinosaurus lived in water is that studies have found that the isotopic composition of Spinosaurus bones is close to that of aquatic animals.

However, Xu Xing stressed that there is no very conclusive evidence that Spinosaurus must have lived in water. "Because Spinosaurus didn’t have a fin-like structure like aquatic animals such as sea lions or seals. This shows that Spinosaurus cannot live completely in water and is not a typical aquatic animal. " He said that according to the existing findings, it is not easy to judge whether Spinosaurus lived in the water or on the shore for a long time.

"According to the teeth and skull of Spinosaurus, people think that Spinosaurus mainly lived by eating fish, but Spinosaurus is just a kind of dinosaur with a special feeding habit, and generally speaking, Spinosaurus just goes into the water to prey and then returns to land life. Therefore, we cannot put forward ‘ Aquatic dinosaur ’ The concept. " Xing Lida, an associate professor at China Geo University, said.

  Dinosaurs were aquatic animals?

Some scientists believe that dinosaurs were originally aquatic animals. This statement stems from a puzzle: how did the slender legs of dinosaurs support its huge body? Brian Ford, a cell biologist at Cambridge University in England, tried to explain that dinosaurs mainly lived in water and supported their bodies by buoyancy. He said that dinosaurs swam in the lake most of the time, and their tails provided assistance, and their footprints were printed into the mud.

According to Ford, it can explain why archaeologists often dig dinosaur footprints, but there are few traces of dinosaur tails. Compared with modern large animals such as elephants and rhinoceroses, dinosaurs had small legs but fat tails.

"It makes sense to think that dinosaurs lived in water." Ford said, "dinosaurs used water to support their weight, float their tails, regulate their body temperature and get food."

However, Paul Barrett, a paleontologist at the Natural History Museum in London, believes that this statement makes no sense. He said that with the help of the principle of load-bearing structural engineering, researchers have proved that the strength of dinosaur leg muscles is enough to support its body to walk easily on land. Moreover, dinosaurs had difficulty breathing and walked slowly in the water. "They may live near water, and sometimes they go into the water to cool off, but I don’t accept the theory that they live in water." Paul said.

In 2007, scientists found traces of dinosaurs’ claws at the bottom of the water in the Carmelos basin in northeastern Spain, which became conclusive evidence that "dinosaurs could swim". In 2011, Chinese and American paleontologists found a group of strange footprints with only toe marks and no heels in Chicheng County, Hebei Province. Experts believe that this is the hard evidence of dinosaurs playing in the water — — Tracers leave scratches on the bottom of the lake after entering the water. As the depth of the lake increases, their feet can touch less and less water bottom, and their footprints gradually weaken, and their three toes can not be completely preserved.

  Completely aquatic dinosaurs don’t exist?

Although there is evidence that some dinosaurs lived in water, Xing Lida still opposed the concept of "aquatic dinosaurs". “‘ Aquatic dinosaur ’ It is only a hypothesis put forward in recent years, but it is extremely easy to include Syngnathus, Canglong, plesiosaur, etc., confusing concepts. "

Xu Xing also told reporters: "According to the existing research, there are no pure water dinosaurs. Let’s just say that there is some evidence that dinosaurs lived in water for some time. The limbs of plesiosaurs, ichthyosaurs or sea lions and seals will undergo height changes to adapt to life completely in water, but there is no evidence that such dinosaurs exist at present. "

Strictly speaking, no real aquatic dinosaurs have been found. Xu Xing believes that there are two possibilities. First, dinosaurs did not give priority to occupy the water niche in the era when they lived. At that time, the water environment might be occupied by crocodiles and other aquatic animals. Second, there may be aquatic dinosaurs, but they have not become mainstream species, and the fossils of such dinosaurs have not been preserved or discovered.

"In recent years, with the deepening of field trips, people have discovered more and more strange dinosaurs. The current fossil record has not fully revealed the diversity of dinosaurs. " Xu Xing said that the original fossil record is deficient, some deficiencies may be remedied, and some deficiencies may exist forever.

What’s the point of studying dinosaurs and even arguing about whether dinosaurs were aquatic or terrestrial?

"First of all, it can prove some evolutionary phenomena. Species are always changing, such as from big to small, from land to air. Scientists hope to reveal the law of change. " Xu Xing said that the current ecosystem is called the world of birds and flowers, characterized by beautiful birds and flowering plants, and this ecosystem evolved from the Mesozoic ecosystem dominated by dinosaurs. We need a lot of data and fossil records to reveal this evolution process.

At the same time, scientists should also reveal which factors affect the evolution of life, such as genes or environment. "It is also important for human beings to understand their own lives to understand the laws of the evolution of all things." Xu Xing said.

This dinosaur can also swim and hunt in the water.

At the end of 2017, research teams from Italy and other countries discovered a new dinosaur fossil in the late Cretaceous strata of Mongolia, which was roughly waterfowl-like. This new dinosaur species was named Eichzka, commonly known as "duck dinosaur". "Duck Dinosaur" has a long and curved neck, and its forelimbs are fin-shaped. It can walk on land like a duck and swim with its forelimbs. They also have many tiny teeth suitable for eating fish. Another feature of "Duck Dinosaur" is that its beak and upper jaw have many small holes, which were once filled with nerve endings. This kind of mouth has a similar structure to the beaks of some waterfowl. This shows that "duck dinosaurs" may have preyed in the water or at the bottom of rivers and lakes.

Meituan’s triple dilemma: huge losses in new business, high anti-monopoly sword, and social security problems for riders to be solved.

Radar Financial Products | edited by Li Yihui | Deep Sea

Meituan, whose market value plummeted during the year, announced its performance report for the second quarter of 2021 on August 30. According to the financial report, in the second quarter, Meituan’s revenue was 43.76 billion yuan and its net loss was 3.36 billion yuan, which was the third consecutive quarterly performance loss of Meituan. Throughout the first half of the year, Meituan’s revenue was 80.78 billion yuan, with a net loss of 8.203 billion yuan, compared with a profit of 631 million yuan in the same period last year.

Behind the "Waterloo" performance, Meituan is striving to maintain the dominance of local life, including responding to the penetration of platforms such as Tik Tok into local life. In the new business field, Meituan and its competitors are equally fierce. Community e-commerce, flash shopping, grocery shopping and other parts contributed a loss of 17.28 billion yuan to Meituan in the first half of the year.

In addition to the visible "burning money" war in business, Meituan also faces two other challenges. One is the anti-monopoly investigation disclosed in the financial report. As of the announcement date, the relevant investigation is still going on, and the company may be required to change its business practices or be fined heavily. Secondly, the policy "boots" of 4.7 million laborers sent by Meituan to participate in social insurance has fallen, and it is not known whether Meituan can catch it.

The loss of new business in the first half of the year was 17.3 billion yuan.

In a single quarter, the revenue growth rate of Meituan in the second quarter slowed down compared with the first quarter.

The financial report shows that in the second quarter of 2021, the revenue of Meituan was 43.759 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 77%. In comparison, the revenue of Meituan in the first quarter was 37.016 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 120.9%.

According to the business classification, Meituan’s food and beverage take-out, going to stores, hotels and traveling are its main businesses, and they also make money for the company. The new business and others include sharing cycling, shopping, taking a taxi, flash shopping and community group buying business based on the optimization of the US delegation.

Meituan said, "The community e-commerce business Meituan Optimization is still the most important investment area of the company this quarter." However, this part of the business is also the bulk of the loss of the US Mission.

In the second quarter, Meituan’s new business and other sectors realized revenue of 12 billion yuan and operating loss of 9.2 billion yuan, an increase from the loss of 8 billion yuan in Q1. From January to June, the revenue from new business and other businesses was 21.9 billion yuan, with a loss of 17.3 billion yuan, which exceeded the whole year of 2020.

According to the financial report, the community group buying business has further expanded its geographical coverage, deepened its penetration into low-tier cities, and established cold chain logistics nationwide to ensure product quality and fresh product distribution.

At present, after a period of irrational competition and supervision and guidance, the "third group" represented by Xingsheng Youxuan, Shihui Group and Tongcheng Life began to shrink its front line. Giants like JD.COM also changed their attitude towards group buying, but Meituan did not give up the pace of expansion, and Wang Xing regarded it as a "once-in-a-decade opportunity".

At the analyst meeting, when answering the analyst’s question that "the growth rate of orders preferred by Meituan has slowed down", Wang Xing said that Meituan is very confident in the prospect of community e-commerce (community group buying). Despite the recent regulatory opinions and seasonal factors, Meituan has experienced some operational fluctuations, but the company will optimize its pricing strategy and build long-term capabilities.

What supports the new business "burning money" is the take-away and high-profit wine travel business that has produced economies of scale.

In the second quarter, Meituan’s food and beverage take-away income was 23.125 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 59%; The operating profit generated increased by 95.2% year-on-year to 2.447 billion yuan. The income from shops, hotels and tourism was 8.6 billion yuan, up 89.3% year-on-year; It generated an operating profit of 3.664 billion yuan.

With regard to the commission that has attracted much attention, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce suggested that the take-away platform reduce the commission at the two sessions. Meituan immediately launched a new commission model in May, which refined the commission into technical service fees and performance service fees, and adopted step-by-step charges.

According to the financial report, in the second quarter of this year, the commission income of Meituan’s catering take-out was 20.36 billion yuan, and the number of completed orders was 3.54 billion, with an average commission income of 575 yuan per order.

In the second quarter of 2020, the commission income of Meituan’s catering take-out was 12.72 billion yuan, and the number of completed orders was 2.23 billion, with an average commission income of 571 yuan per order, which means that the commission amount in the second quarter of this year was higher than that in the same period of last year, and the reform did not reduce the commission income of Meituan.

Increasing the commission leads to an increase in the company’s profit margin. Meituan revealed in the financial report that the operating profit of the food and beverage take-out division increased by 95.2% from RMB 1.3 billion in the second quarter of 2020 to RMB 2.4 billion in the same period of 2021, and the operating profit rate of this division increased by 2.0 percentage points from 8.6% year-on-year to 10.6%.

However, in the second quarter, the rider cost was 15.46 billion, which was little changed from the 15.38 billion in the first quarter. Obviously, the rider did not share the growth of the commission income of the US Mission.

This is somewhat embarrassing for Wang Xing, who advertises that "common prosperity" is rooted in the gene of Meituan.

It is worth noting that the food and beverage take-away business on which Meituan depends has ushered in new competitors. Recently, Tik Tok started the take-away business, and now has access to take-away brands that can deliver by themselves, such as KFC and Xicha. At the same time, Tik Tok also set up a team for take-away business, and in the internal test called "Heart Takeaway" business.

According to CBN, recently, a group of operators who were in charge of customers’ businesses in public comments switched to ByteDance to engage in commercialization-related businesses.

Ali has never given up the competition in the field of local life. On July 2, Alibaba announced a series of organizational upgrading decisions. Flying Pig and Gao De were merged into Ali’s local life, and Yu Yongfu became the CEO, which is considered to be a "hard" group for integrating resources.

In fact, the local life service market is a trillion-dollar track. According to the data released by iResearch, the current online penetration rate is only 12.7%. This huge cake is destined to be the long-term competition direction of Internet giants.

Or get a high ticket for antitrust investigation.

Compared with the performance, the market is more concerned about the progress of the anti-monopoly investigation of Meituan.

On April 26 this year, the General Administration of Market Supervision issued a notice, which will investigate the suspected monopolistic behavior of Meituan according to the report.

On the evening of August 30, the General Administration of Market Supervision said that under the administrative guidance of the General Administration of Market Supervision, eight shared consumer brand operating enterprises, namely Hello, Qingju, Meituan, Monster, Xiaodian, Jiaodian, Jiedian and Soudian, were actively rectified, and the price increase in the shared consumption sector was effectively curbed, and the price was gradually transparent and standardized.

Among them, more than 80,000 cabinets of Street Power were reduced in price, and thousands of cabinets of Small Power, Search Power, Monster and Meituan were reduced in price. At present, the average price of each brand is 2.2-3.3 yuan/hour, and cabinets with a price of 3 yuan or less per hour account for 69%-96%.

In the next step, the market supervision department will further strengthen the supervision in the field of shared consumption, requiring all enterprises to strictly review the internal compliance of price adjustment, and truthfully and timely publicize the pricing rules and standards.

In addition, the above-mentioned contents also mentioned that the General Administration of Market Supervision conducted an investigation into the failure of Meituan to declare its acquisition of mobike according to law. It is understood that in April, 2018, Meituan wholly acquired mobike at a price of 2.7 billion US dollars. After that, mobike’s founding team withdrew one after another, and mobike joined Meituan App and changed its name to Meituan Bicycle.

In the financial report, Meituan said that in April 2021, the State Administration of Markets launched relevant investigations on the Company in accordance with the Anti-Monopoly Law of the People’s Republic of China. As of the date of this report, the relevant investigation is still in progress, and the company actively cooperates with the investigation of the State Administration of Market Supervision.

According to the financial report, the company cannot predict the situation or results of relevant investigations at this stage, and may be required to change its business practices or be fined heavily.

Wang Xing expressed his views on a series of recent regulatory measures in anti-monopoly, data security and community e-commerce. He believes that these regulatory changes are meaningful for the sustained development and orderly growth of the Internet platform economy, and are also beneficial to promoting fair competition and development of the industry.

When some analysts asked about the impact of data security supervision on marketing advertising, Wang Xing said that the relevant supervision may have some impact on marketing advertising business, and the company is evaluating it.

If the punishment falls, how much will the US Mission be punished?

According to the anti-monopoly law, the fine amount is 1%-10% of the comprehensive turnover of the previous year, and the estimated fine range of Bank of Communications International Report is 4-12 billion yuan, accounting for 1-3% of the total transaction volume (GMV) of Meituan’s take-away business in 2018/19. Nomura said that if the fine is 4% of the previous year’s comprehensive turnover, Meituan may be fined 4.6 billion yuan.

This will seriously affect the future development of Meituan, whose new business is still in the investment period. According to incomplete statistics of public information, Radar Finance found that Meituan had lost two lawsuits about unfair competition.

In February this year, the judgment issued by the Intermediate People’s Court of Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province showed that the unfair competition behavior of Jinhua Branch (Meituan) of Beijing Sankuai Technology Co., Ltd. damaged the legitimate rights and interests of ladas Company (Hungry) and should bear civil liability. The court gave full support to the hungry petition asking the US Mission to compensate for the economic loss of 1 million yuan.

In April, Meituan was again judged by the Intermediate People’s Court of Huai ‘an City, Jiangsu Province to compensate for the economic loss of 352,000 yuan, because Meituan had obvious unfair competition.

In response to supervision, Wang Xing stressed that the company will continue to strengthen compliance operations, improve the management and control of internal businesses, thoroughly examine and actively rectify related issues, and reduce operational risks.

Business model faces the impact of employment security

The problem facing Wang Xing is not only anti-monopoly, but also the protection of riders’ rights and interests has attracted the attention of relevant departments.

According to media reports, in May this year, when the government inspection team members were stationed in the Meituan, they consulted the inside of the Meituan on the remuneration of riders. According to the insiders of the company, the Meituan had 4.7 million riders, and most of them were dispatched by labor.

In view of the continuous influx of young and middle-aged people into the take-away industry, but they are outside the social security system, have no labor relations with the platform, and face the status quo of "the strictest algorithm" assessment, the rights and interests of take-away workers are increasingly concerned by the society.

Since July this year, a number of competent departments have jointly issued a series of guidance documents, which put forward all-round requirements for protecting the legitimate rights and interests of take-away food delivery personnel.

Specifically, there are three points that may affect the US delegation: ensuring that the rider’s salary is higher than the local legal minimum wage; Providing social security for full-time riders and industrial injury insurance for part-time riders; We should pay attention to the physical and mental health of workers, optimize the platform algorithm, and must not formulate assessment indicators that harm the safety and health of workers.

In the social security part, the document points out that it is necessary to urge the platform and third-party cooperative units to participate in social insurance for take-away food delivery personnel who establish labor relations, and encourage other take-away food delivery personnel to participate in social insurance.

It is learned from some take-away riders that at present, the take-away agents of Meituan need to bear commercial insurance by themselves, and the commercial insurance paid by Meituan is deducted from their commission every month. The Beijing area is around 150 yuan every month, and some second-and third-tier cities are lower than this amount.

According to the regulatory guidelines, this part will be paid by Meituan. According to the daily level of 3 yuan in second-and third-tier cities, the annual expenditure of this Meituan is about 5.1 billion yuan.

Tiger Securities believes that among the above-mentioned 4.7 million riders, assuming that the proportion of riders who confirm labor relations is 20%-30%, the average income of riders who sell out is about 6,000 yuan, and the median of the minimum social security base in different cities is about 3,000 yuan. Based on the current social security policy, the enterprise payment ratio is 32%. It is estimated that Meituan will pay 2.3-3.4 billion yuan more in social security fees every year.

Citic Securities commented that it is impossible to accurately quantify the impact of the supervision on the platform, such as rider social security and rights protection. However, logically, it is judged that the regulatory authorities did not intend to overthrow and subvert the existing business model of take-away, nor did they explicitly restrict its commercialization liquidity. Instead, they shifted the focus of the platform from simple efficiency improvement to rational distribution of income, and put forward higher standards and requirements for the stability and humanization of the ecology behind the entire platform.

Analysts believe that once the take-away platform pays insurance for large-scale riders, it means that its operating costs will increase, which will also have an impact on the business model of Meituan.

In terms of improving the welfare of take-away riders, Wang Xing introduced that Meituan will cooperate with the supervision to provide comprehensive welfare plans for take-away riders, and will upgrade the order delivery system and adjust the order system according to policy guidance to introduce compulsory rest for take-away riders.

The latest market value of Meituan, which is facing multiple difficulties, has evaporated by more than one trillion Hong Kong dollars compared with the high point of the year.

For the future trend of the US Mission, several institutions lowered their target prices. For example, UBS lowered its price by 6% to HK$ 330, Morgan Stanley lowered its price by 17% to HK$ 300, and Credit Suisse lowered its price from HK$ 374 a few days ago to HK$ 308, a decrease of 18%.

Exploring "Why China" from General Secretary’s "Cultural Footprint"

Why does the Millennium context continue? Brilliant civilization, how to glow with glory?

Looking back at history, the ancient wind blows across the land of China and the mountains and rivers of Wan Li, and the great pen of history engraves the answer of the times "Why China".

On a new journey, the road is like a rock. In the first year of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the theme of "culture" runs through the investigation footprint of the Supreme Leader General Secretary. Standing at the strategic height of the sustainable inheritance of the Chinese nation and Chinese civilization, the General Secretary guides us to draw the strength of cultural self-confidence from inheritance and development.

  Seeking the roots of civilization

Enlighten the future with history as a mirror in the historical coordinate.

Culture connects a nation’s past, present and future.

"Sleeping for thousands of years, waking up is shocking." Sanxingdui Site, located in Deyang City, Sichuan Province, represents the face and development level of ancient Shu civilization thousands of years ago. It is the largest, longest-lasting and most abundant unearthed cultural relics in southwest China so far.

"This job is not easy! Carry forward the spirit of slow work and fine work, take your time and work hard for a long time. "

On July 26th, 2023, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader came to the new Sanxingdui Museum to visit the exhibitions such as "Dreaming of the Century", "King of the World" and "Heaven, Earth, Man and God" to learn about the excavation process of Sanxingdui site and the achievements of ancient Shu civilization.

More than 1,500 pieces (sets) of various cultural relics, such as pottery, bronzes, jade and stone tools, goldware and ivory (including ivory carvings), are exhibited in the new museum, of which nearly 600 pieces are exhibited for the first time. A piece of cultural relics is magnificent and dazzling in the magnificent Milky Way of Chinese civilization.

"Chinese civilization has outstanding continuity" — — On June 2nd, in the forum on cultural inheritance and development, the Supreme Leader General Secretary pointed out five outstanding characteristics of Chinese civilization in his important speech, and the first one was "continuity".

Before the symposium, the general secretary specially inspected two cultural landmarks — — China National Edition Museum and China Historical Research Institute have been thinking all the way, thinking about "continuity" throughout.

Come to the Central General Pavilion of China National Edition Pavilion, visit the National Study, the Exhibition of Ancient Chinese Civilization Edition, the Exhibition of China Contemporary Publishing Boutiques and Featured Edition, carefully examine the exhibition of Marxist China-style classic edition, and visit the library exhibitions of "Combination of Chinese, Tibetan, Mongolian and Manchu Tibetan Tripitaka" and "Combination of Sikuquanshu"; Walk into the China Historical Research Institute, visit the special exhibition on the origin of civilization and Zhai Zi China, learn about the major archaeological discoveries in the Neolithic Age and the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and look at some precious ancient books and documents … … General Secretary Nianzi is here to explore the roots of civilization and do a good job in the protection of cultural relics.

"What I care about most is the most precious thing left by Chinese civilization through vicissitudes. Our culture continues to flow and then pass on, and these treasures left behind must be taken care of and cherished by all means. " Concerned about the construction of the China National Edition Pavilion, the general secretary earnestly entrusted: "Please!"

Detect a touch of ashes and get a glimpse of textile processing more than 3,000 years ago; AI technology is put together and restored, and the bronzes in different sacrificial pits can be restored to integrity; Multifunctional archaeological work chamber, ultra-depth microscopic analysis, 3D model, X-ray fluorescence spectrum … … In recent years, various disciplines and scientific and technological means have continuously contributed to archaeological research, providing strong support for the exploration and protection of civilization.

Nowadays, the major projects of "Archaeological China", such as the Chinese civilization tracing project, the Xia culture and the civilization process in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, have been promoted as a whole, and the national edition museum has been put into operation, and the research and interpretation of the origin of Chinese civilization have been deepened continuously.

Know what you have never done, and you will know where you are going.

Looking back at the historical coordinates and looking forward to the journey of the avenue, the general secretary marked a new direction — — Chinese-style modernization endows Chinese civilization with modern strength, and Chinese civilization endows Chinese-style modernization with profound connotation. Chinese-style modernization is the new life of the old country of the Chinese nation and will surely promote the rejuvenation of Chinese civilization.

Tracing back to the source contains the power of civilization of "Why China".

  preservation of cultural relics

Activate, protect and inherit forever on the axis of culture

A Gusu city, half a Jiangnan poem.

Strolling along Pingjiang Road, the lanes are criss-crossing, the waterways are criss-crossing, and the old and the modern collide here.

Located in the northeast corner of Suzhou ancient city, Jiangsu Province, Pingjiang historical and cultural block has a history of more than 2,500 years. On July 6th, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader came here to inspect, listen to the report on the protection of Suzhou ancient city and the protection, repair and utilization of Pingjiang historical and cultural blocks in detail, walk to see the style of ancient streets, watch the production of Suzhou embroidery and experience the printing of New Year pictures.

A picture of Pingjiang clearly shows the plane outline and street layout of ancient Suzhou. There are 3 national key cultural relics protection units, 2 provincial cultural relics protection units, 14 municipal cultural relics protection units, 44 controlled and protected buildings and 202 cultural relics registration points.

Repair cultural relics, dredge rivers, renovate residents’ courtyards, activate protection, and make the city reappear in the fireworks world. Today’s ancient city is basically the same as that in Pingjiang Map, as if we can get a glimpse of the bustling scene of Suzhou in the Song Dynasty.

"Suzhou has done a good job in combining tradition and modernity. It not only has historical and cultural heritage, but also has high-tech innovation and high-quality development, representing the future development direction." The general secretary said this.

Develop in protection and find the "combination point" between ancient and modern times — — Take the repair method of "repairing the old as it is, preserving its truth", and formulate the Protection and Renovation Plan of Pingjiang Historic District and the Protection and Renovation Plan of Pingjiang Road Street View, etc., and make in-depth investigation and careful records of houses, bridges and other historical sites in the local area to promote the protection of the street style and environmental governance.

Protect in development and find the "balance point" of people’s livelihood — — "A plaque, a bucket, a well, a line", a series of transformation measures gradually improve the pragmatic livelihood issues such as water leakage and humidity, water and electricity consumption in the ancient city.

In Zhengding, Hebei Province, it is proposed that culture should promote the county and tourism should promote the county. In Zhejiang, investigate the Liangzhu site and pay attention to the "application for heritage" of the ancient city; In Fuzhou, Fujian Province, promote the formulation of protection and management regulations and protection planning for Fuzhou historical and cultural city … … The protection of cultural relics and historic sites is a consistent focus.

Visiting the ancient city again and again and touching the history again and again, the "cultural footprint" of the General Secretary is all over China.

In May this year, on the way to Shaanxi, the General Secretary visited the Yuncheng Museum in Shanxi. He once again stressed that it is necessary to conscientiously implement the work requirements of the CPC Central Committee on upholding protection first, strengthening management, tapping value, effectively utilizing and making cultural relics alive, and comprehensively improve the level of cultural relics protection and utilization and cultural heritage protection and inheritance.

In recent years, many measures, such as planning and protection, inheritance and utilization, supervision and management, have provided guidance for the protection of the cultural heritage of the ancient city and brought new formats and vitality to the city.

"Avoid ‘ A thousand cities and ten thousand buildings look alike ’ " "Let the residents see the mountains, the water and remember their homesickness" … … Along the direction of the general secretary, Zhengding ancient city reappears the style of the northern male town, Liangzhu ancient city site is selected into the World Heritage List, Beijing Hutong engraves the memory of the ancient capital, and the construction of the national cultural park is solidly promoted, and the historical context is constantly integrated and combined with modern life.

Years have passed, and one piece of cultural relics and historical sites has connected the memory of Chinese culture.

Cultural relics protection contains the inheritance power of "Why China".

  Cultural inheritance

On the road of development, innovation and integration escort

Embroider beautiful rivers and mountains with needle and thread as pen and ink.

As one of the representatives of Chinese embroidery art, Suzhou embroidery has a long history of more than 2,000 years, and was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.

In Jiangsu, the general secretary watched the production of Suzhou embroidery, and his heart was attached to cultural inheritance. "The excellent traditional Chinese culture has been passed down from generation to generation, and its toughness, patience and determination are part of the spirit of the Chinese nation." The general secretary said with emotion.

In Shaanxi, the general secretary praised Hanzhong rattan and paid attention to industrial development. "Hanzhong rattan and other intangible cultural heritages have long enjoyed a good reputation. It is necessary to develop and expand characteristic industries and better drive the people to increase their income and get rich."

In today’s China, intangible cultural heritage projects show the world the cultural charm of the ancient oriental civilization and an enduring and youthful image of China in the unique language of Chinese culture.

Rule of law escort — — In recent years, a series of policy plans have been issued intensively, and the legal and regulatory system for cultural heritage protection has been continuously improved. In the legislative work plan for 2023 published by the National People’s Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), it is listed to amend the law on the protection of cultural relics. Ten provinces, including Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong, Chongqing and Shaanxi, have issued local laws and regulations on revolutionary cultural relics, underground cultural relics, social cultural relics and cultural heritage.

Institutional guarantee — — For the first time, Opinions on Implementing the Inheritance and Development Project of Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture, and Opinions on Further Strengthening the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, elaborated the inheritance and development of Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture in the form of a central document, and improved the representative inheritor system … … … … With the continuous improvement of the "four beams and eight pillars" of cultural heritage protection, it provides guarantee for the inheritance of culture.

Industrial integration — — The digital exhibition "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" is very popular, and "Only this Green" brings an audio-visual feast, and Tongben Ma Wen has become popular … … Nowadays, many intangible cultural heritages are deeply branded and intelligent, and Industry-University-Research integrates and extends the value chain, and constantly carries out the practice of creative transformation and innovative development. "Chinese Romance" attracts the world’s attention.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, eight cultural heritages have been listed in the World Heritage List, and the protection of cultural heritages has reached a new level. At present, there are more than 100,000 non-legacy representative projects at all levels, including 1,557 national non-legacy representative projects.

"Chinese civilization has outstanding innovation, which fundamentally determines the enterprising spirit of the Chinese nation, respecting the past and not retro, and determines the fearless character of the Chinese nation that is not afraid of new challenges and dares to accept new things." The general secretary said.

In the inheritance of cultural skills, intangible cultural heritage resonates with the times at the same frequency and constantly innovates and develops. Generations of inheritors have been singing string songs endlessly, which makes traditional skills glow with new vitality.

At the opening ceremony of Chengdu Universiade, the "God Bird of the Sun" rose in the air, symbolizing the symbol of chinese heritage and igniting this summer.

The rapid development of culture and the rise of great powers confirm the "combination" emphasized by the general secretary — — It is the only way to open up and develop Socialism with Chinese characteristics on the profound foundation of Chinese civilization for more than 5,000 years, and to combine the basic principles of Marxism with the concrete reality of China and the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

Innovation and integration contain the power of the times of "Why China".

China Scientific Research Team: New Technology Makes Carbon Dioxide High-value "Baby"

Take the "life gate" in your own hands.

When it comes to carbon dioxide (CO2), people generally think that it is like waste wood, which is not only useless, but also one of the chief culprits of destroying the climate and causing global warming. So far, researchers have thought of many ways to deal with it, such as imprisoning it (curing and sealing it) and driving it into a water dungeon (drilling into the seabed). However, in the eyes of Zhang Xiangping, a researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering of China Academy of Sciences, CO2 is a good raw material, which is cheap and easy to obtain. For more than ten years, her ionic liquid team, under the leadership of Academician Zhang Suojiang, has been pondering how to efficiently convert and utilize CO2 and turn it into treasure.

Deal with stubborn guys and send activists as "lobbyists"

CO2 utilization is a major global strategic issue. In June 2016, the EU launched a plan to take CO2 utilization as a major research direction; Japan has formulated a road map for CO2 utilization planning; China’s National Development and Reform Commission and Energy Bureau listed it as a key task in the Action Plan. However, the activation and transformation of CO2 molecules has become one of the internationally recognized scientific problems due to the problems of difficult activation, complex reaction path and low product selectivity.

"CO2 is a common compound in the air, and it is not easy to transform and utilize it. As we know, CO2 molecule is made up of two oxygen atoms and a carbon atom connected by a solid double bond, if you want to ‘ Knock ’ It is quite difficult to open the carbon-oxygen double bond closely linked between them and reduce it to oxygen and carbon. " Zhang Xiangping said in an interview with the Science and Technology Daily reporter.

Zhang Xiangping further explained that direct bond-breaking activation of CO2 requires high temperature and high pressure, but if we can find other active molecules to be lobbyists, such as epoxy compounds, we can induce the activation of CO2 and make its transformation easier. In addition, it is necessary to add a "medium", that is, a suitable catalyst, to promote the efficient conversion of CO2.

In the past ten years, after many experiments, the research team has gradually found an effective "cadre" who will live up to its mission — — The ionic liquid catalyst with multiple active sites can not only activate the double bond of CO2, but also make the ethylene oxide (EO) that reacts with it become active and open the ring more easily, so that CO2 and EO can react together to synthesize ethylene carbonate, an important chemical raw material.

Zhang Xiangping pointed out that the team successfully prepared the immobilized ionic liquid catalyst through further chemical chain loading, which avoided the problems of easy loss and deactivation of homogeneous catalyst, difficult catalyst recovery, high energy consumption and impact on product quality.

Coup after coup, enhancing value for efficient use.

Efficient catalyst has been developed, and a matching reactor is needed to provide a suitable place for the reaction.

Zhang Xiangping said: "Compliance response — Flow — According to the law of transfer and coupling, the team optimized the internal components of the reactor, realized the uniform distribution of the flow field/temperature field, and innovatively developed a 10,000-ton ionic liquid gas-liquid-solid three-phase tubular reactor, and the heat released quickly during the reaction can be discharged from the system as soon as possible, so that the reactor does not overheat and realizes safe operation. "

On this basis, the research team adopted alcoholysis reaction — The coupling process strengthening technology of pressure swing azeotropic distillation can realize the optimal integration of the whole system heat network, greatly reduce energy consumption, significantly improve economy and reduce equipment investment.

"In terms of technology, it is necessary to design a whole process to connect the whole reaction and separation process in order to get the final qualified product from raw materials." Zhang Xiangping told reporters, "We have optimized the integration of material and energy in the whole process, and greatly improved energy consumption, efficiency, economy and product quality to meet the needs of enterprises and markets."

According to reports, with the support of the national key R&D plan "Clean and Efficient Utilization of Coal and New Energy Saving Technology", since May 2018, the project "New Technology for Efficient Synthesis of Important Chemicals by CO2" led by the Institute of Process Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences has designed and synthesized a functional ionic liquid catalyst with multiple active sites in the CO2 carbonylation reaction, realizing efficient conversion of CO2 under mild conditions. At the same time, a carbonylation catalyst meeting industrial needs has been prepared and a continuous reaction device has been built. Aiming at the alcoholysis reaction of vinyl carbonate, a catalyst with high activity and low cost was developed, a 10-ton/year alcoholysis continuous device was built, and a 10,000-ton industrial test device was established.

Open up a new path to synthesize multiple important chemicals

The technology of CO2 capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) is one of the main ways to realize low-carbon emission of coal in China, and the high-value utilization of the collected CO2 can not only reduce carbon emission and alleviate the greenhouse effect, but also produce significant social and economic value.

After years of unremitting efforts, through the original innovation of catalyst, the optimization of reactor structure and the integrated innovation of the system, the ionic liquid team of Institute of Process Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences has developed a new route of synthesizing ethylene carbonate from CO2 and high-energy material ethylene oxide, and then producing dimethyl carbonate and ethylene glycol by alcoholysis respectively, forming a new all-atom utilization technology of mild conversion of CO2.

Just like turning the stone into gold, products produced by CO2 are all high-value "treasures", which have a wide range of application fields and considerable market prospects, but there are problems such as poor economic benefits after being used before.

Zhang Xiangping said that among diversified products, dimethyl carbonate is mainly used to synthesize important organic chemicals, which is known as the "new cornerstone" of green chemistry in the 21st century. It can be widely used in organic synthesis reactions such as carbonylation, methylation, methoxylation, carbonyl methylation, polycarbonates, etc. In recent years, with the rapid development of power lithium batteries, polycarbonates and other related industries, the demand for dimethyl carbonate continues to grow rapidly, and the demand in China is expected to be 4 million tons in 2020. Ethylene glycol is a raw material for the synthesis of polyester fiber and resin. China’s annual demand is more than 14 million tons, and its dependence on foreign countries is more than 60%.

According to the insiders, compared with the reaction route of direct conversion of CO2 into synthetic chemicals, this technology has obvious advantages such as mild reaction conditions, good atomic economy and broad industrialization prospects. The implementation of the project will help China seize the international commanding heights of CO2 utilization technology, solve and break through the bottleneck problem of clean and efficient utilization of coal in China, and open up a new path for high-value utilization of CO2, which has important strategic significance. After planting teeth "freely", how to plant teeth?

  Reading tips

Since the beginning of this year, many places have fully implemented comprehensive measures to control the price of dental implants, which has effectively improved the situation of expensive dental implants, and the price of dental implants in public medical institutions and private institutions has dropped sharply. Professionals remind that after the "freedom" of dental implants, patients have more choices. They should choose the appropriate brand and method of dental implants according to their physical and oral conditions, not just considering the price factor.

"It costs a car to plant a tooth", which is a long-standing impression of dental implants. Because of the high cost, many patients suffering from dental diseases look forward to "teeth". Since the beginning of this year, many places have fully implemented comprehensive measures to control the price of dental implants, and the situation of expensive dental implants has been effectively improved.

So, how much is the price of dental implants cheaper? What changes have taken place in the market during the "price reduction tide"? How should consumers choose dental implants? The reporter of Workers Daily recently conducted an investigation and interview on this.

Dental implant collection has landed in many places across the country.

"My two teeth that need bone grafting are ‘ Waiting for you ’ !” Ms. Su in Beijing said excitedly after seeing the news of the adjustment of dental implant policy in Beijing. Ms. Su pulled out two teeth in September last year, which was delayed until March this year because of expenses and other reasons. "I am very happy after seeing the news. I consulted the dental clinic. Planting two teeth can save a lot of money compared with before." Ms. Su said.

Recently, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Health and Social Security issued the Notice on the Implementation of Centralized Procurement of Oral Implant-related Consumables and the Results of Limited Price Online (hereinafter referred to as the Notice). All-ceramic crown products shall be purchased by provincial alliance with centralized quantity or by price-limited net. At the same time, Beijing will simultaneously implement the "trinity" comprehensive management of dental implant medical service charges, centralized procurement of implants, and limited price of dental crowns, and the prices of dental implant medical services, implants and dental crowns will be greatly reduced.

According to the relevant personnel of Beijing Medical Insurance Bureau, 15 medical services related to oral implant have been integrated and standardized in Beijing this time, and the price level has dropped by 72% on average compared with that before adjustment. The price of public medical institutions has dropped from 4,500 yuan before adjustment to a minimum of 1,103 yuan for the commonly used project of "implant crown restoration and placement fee (single crown)"; For the project of "implant implantation fee (full dental arch)" with complicated technology, the price of public medical institutions has dropped from 41,000 yuan before adjustment to 9,559 yuan.

In addition to reducing the project price, the Beijing Municipal Health Insurance Bureau has regulated the total cost of medical services for "single conventional dental implant" and set four regulatory targets, namely, 4,300 yuan for the second-level and below public medical institutions in Beijing, 4,500 yuan for the third-level public medical institutions in six non-urban districts, 5,000 yuan for the third-level public medical institutions in six urban districts and 5,450 yuan for the National Stomatological Center (Stomatological Hospital of Peking University).

Since the beginning of this year, similar policies have landed in many places across the country. The reporter learned that local policies are different, but the price cuts are roughly the same, and the average decline is mostly concentrated around 50%.

How much can a tooth be cheaper?

On the first day of the price reduction of dental implants in Beijing, the reporter went to a private dental clinic in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The clinic posted a letter to the patients with dental implants issued by the Beijing Municipal Health Insurance Bureau at the door. Many patients in the clinic have come to ask about the price of dental implants.

"We started to publicize the policy two weeks before it was implemented, and the price was really much cheaper after the centralized purchase. Like the cheapest brand, the price after collection is 3680 yuan, while it was more than 6000 yuan before. " The staff of the clinic told the reporter, "There are many patients who have come to consult recently, and the operation has been scheduled for next week."

In the official website of Beijing Stomatological Hospital, A Letter to the Patients with Oral Implantation also appeared in a prominent position on the website, and the price announcement of medical services was uploaded in the convenience service inquiry column. The reporter called Beijing Stomatological Hospital, and the staff replied that at present, the hospital has started to fully implement it according to the policy requirements, and the price of a single conventional dental implant medical service has been adjusted to 5,000 yuan.

On the online platform, a number of private dental clinics have launched dental implant packages with "good collection and good price", and the prices mostly range from 3,000 yuan to 9,000 yuan. "We have begun to respond to the policy and implement the centralized price. Now it is very suitable to plant teeth." The customer service staff of a private dental clinic in Beijing told the reporter.

After the centralized mining of dental implants, the prices of public medical institutions and private institutions have declined. Some insiders said that the competition in the dental implant market will make the dental medical industry "roll up".

How to choose dental implants after centralized mining?

"Before, people didn’t pay enough attention to oral diseases, and oral health was very important to people’s bodies. For a long time, the high price of dental implants has discouraged many patients. This time, the adjustment of medical service fees for dental implants and the management of related consumables prices conform to the needs of patients and conform to people’s pursuit of oral health. " Wang Yue, a professor at Peking University College of Medical Humanities, said.

During the interview, many practitioners told reporters that the reduction in the price of dental implants gave patients more choices. Taking Beijing as an example, the published results of centralized purchasing include not only imported brands such as Stroman, Denton and Aochitai, but also domestic brands such as Beijing Leiden, Changzhou Baikang and Jiangsu Chuangying. In terms of price, taking implants (including covering screws) as an example, the highest price of Dense Pacino is 1508 yuan/piece, followed by Nobel and Stroman. Generally speaking, the price of imported brands is higher than that of domestic brands.

Faced with the price difference, many patients have concerns when choosing dental implant brands. According to industry insiders, patients should first consider the physical and oral conditions when choosing the brand and method of dental implants.

"The patient’s specific choice of which planting method should be diagnosed after a comprehensive examination. Before planting teeth, we should fully evaluate the patient’s physical condition, such as whether there are basic diseases such as heart disease, hypertension and diabetes. Secondly, we should understand the patient’s age, bone loss and tooth loss time, and finally make a comprehensive judgment. " The staff of a dental clinic in Beijing told the reporter.

Faced with the price adjustment after centralized mining, dentists reminded patients that dental implants should not only consider the price factor, but should fully understand whether the medical institutions are formal and the technical level of doctors when choosing dental implant institutions. At the same time, according to their own situation, living habits and the specific situation of the oral cavity, we should determine the planting plan that suits them.
